Learn To Swim
Swimmers are taught to become
comfortable in the water while learning the sport. Children should be physically and emotionally ready to learn to swim. Consistency is
encouraged. Accordingly, parents play a vital role in the success of their swimmer.
Junior Competitive is the introduction to competitive swimming. Swimmers must be competent in all four strokes and able to swim at least 3,000
meters in one practice session. This group will focus on further development of each stroke. Practice sets will become more challenging and
swimmers can compete at the local and international level. Strength training and conditioning will be introduced at this level. Swimmers should
attend practices at least 6 days per week.
Senior Competitive consists of swimmers who have experience swimming at the competitive level. The program is designed to enhance stroke
technique, build strength and improve personal times. These swimmers must be committed to high standards in training in terms of attendance and
practice intensity. Swimmers at this level are expected to maintain 90% practice attendance. Strength training and conditioning are encouraged
at this level. The goal of this group is to qualify for local and international meets, i.e. Carifta, CCCAN, CISC and Junior Olympics. Swimmers
should attend practices at least 6 days per week.
